The Principles of Entrepreneurship module is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts, theories and practical skills required to launch and run a successful startup. In this module, students will be introduced to the nature and development of entrepreneurship. This module emphasises the strong link between entrepreneurship and innovation. This leads to an overview of the schools of thought on entrepreneurship and an understanding of the entrepreneur and creative behaviour, trend analysis, problem spaces, brainstorming and other idea generation methods, use of idea and opportunity screening tools, self-reflection of entrepreneurial and innovative characteristics. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, guest speakers and hands-on projects, students will learn how to identify opportunities, validate market demand, and build sustainable business from the ground up.

When it comes to assessment methods, we have included quite a variety that will allow learners with different learning styles and abilities to complete the programme successfully. Students will also have to prepare individual, and team reports and presentations, apart from written and multiple-choice examinations. In addition, they will have to prepare a thesis, and submit assignments.
