This module is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the theories, practices and strategies associated with learning and development processes at work. The module focuses on the strategic importance of learning and development to organisational success (how learning and development can help an organisation achieve its goals). Topics covered will include adult learning theory, instructional design, evaluation and assessment, and technology-based training. The module will also explore current trends and challenges in the field of training and development, such as diversity and inclusion, e-learning and remote training. By the end of the module, students will have the knowledge and skills needed to design, deliver and evaluate training programs in a variety of workplace settings.

When it comes to assessment methods, we have included quite a variety that will allow learners with different learning styles and abilities to complete the programme successfully. Students will also have to prepare individual, and team reports and presentations, apart from written and multiple-choice examinations. In addition, they will have to prepare a thesis, and submit assignments.
